nutritionThere is a considerable difference in processed foods and healthy foods. Processed food is anything that has been significantly altered, items include: bread, cereal, instant oatmeal, pasta, crackers, granola bars, pretzels and chips.

Foods to avoid include sugar (candy, desserts, cookies, donuts, pastries or ice cream), sugary drinks like soda, tea, juice, energy drinks and fried foods (they can cause gases that settle in joints).

Healthy foods play a huge part in your overall health and also help with pain. Supplements to consider adding to your diet may be:

  • Vitamin Supplements of B, C and D
  • Probiotics
  • Fatty acids like olive oil, flax oil, chia seed, pumpkin seeds and walnuts
  • Fish oil offers Omega 3s (Aim for a total of at least 1,000 mg of EPA + DHA combined)

Foods and drinks that are “good” for you include:

  • Fresh juices: carrot, celery and beet juices preferably

Dr. Weston A. Price (1870-1948), a Cleveland dentist, has been called the “Isaac Newton of Nutrition.” Dr. Price embarked on a mission to discover the factors that lead to dental decay and physical degeneration that he observed with patients in his dental practice. To find answers Dr. Price traveled all over the world and studied the teeth and physiques of the isolated “primitive” peoples. (Groups including isolated villages in Switzerland, Gaelic communities in the Outer Hebrides, Eskimos and Indians of North America and more). Over a period of time, teeth surfaces begin changing with the pressure of grinding and clenching. If stress is uncontrolled, it can result in a mental breakdown, nervousness, illness, etc. When your stress threshold is reached it causes some part of the body to malfunction. Today about 85% of hospitals are filled with stress-related disorders like heart attacks, strokes, stomach disorders, asthma and chronic pain.

Making a list of what stressors and events cause you anxiety will help. Some things you can do to alleviate the stress include: Talking with your minister or counselor for support and/or to discover management techniques. Always incorporate music, laughter, exercise and fun into each day.
